1. Glossiness
The glossiness of silicone sealants with different qualities will vary after curing. High quality adhesives have a strong gloss after curing, while low-quality adhesives may lose their luster after being applied, while others may lose their luster after one or two months of curing. The higher the surface glossiness, the more delicate and smooth the adhesive, and the higher the quality; Poor quality glue is the opposite.
2. Look at the particles
High quality silicone adhesive is a chemically synthesized material that has been thoroughly and evenly stirred, with a fine and uniform texture. After curing, it is smooth, flat, and glossy; Poor quality silicone adhesive contains some visible particles and impurities.
3. See if mineral oil is added
The main component of high-quality silicone sealant is silicone, and the amount of other added materials is very small. Pure silicone has good stability and is very little affected by changes in external conditions during its storage period. However, low-quality silicone sealants may react chemically with additives such as mineral oil in the silicone gel and PE soft glue in the bottle due to the fact that the glue is not silicone glue. This can cause the bottle to swell and increase, and the remaining air can penetrate into the glue to create gaps. When applying the glue, it will emit a "popping, popping" sound of bubbles, shortening the shelf life.
4. Test bonding force
Apply silicone adhesive to the substrate, and after curing, tear the silicone adhesive off the substrate by hand. If it can be easily pulled, it indicates that the bonding force is not good enough; On the contrary, it is considered top grade.
5. Compare elasticity and wire drawing
The cured silicone adhesive strip can be pulled by hand, and the elongation of a good silicone adhesive can reach two to three times the original. After releasing the hand, it can basically be restored to its original length. The longer the elasticity is maintained, the higher the quality of the adhesive. When reaching the ji limit, observe the color. The smaller the color change, the better the quality. On the contrary, the quality of the product is poor.
6. Anti shrinkage
At present, there are a large number of low-quality silicone adhesive products filled with white oil on the market, which usually attract users at low prices. At the beginning of use, there are no obvious problems. However, after a few months to six months, the problems of these products will gradually be exposed, resulting in a series of problems such as cracking, shrinkage, and debonding of the adhesive strip, causing sealing failure and house water leakage. After curing, high-quality silicone has stable size, anti shrinkage, and good displacement resistance.
